PEST AND INSECT CONTROL
The control of diseases, vectors and nuisance insects such as mosquitoes, black flies, house flies, and sand flies is an important part of any public health program. At Encap-it we offer a complete range of application equipment that is available that is suitable for Adulticiding (controlling the flying adults) situations. Thermal Fogging is the preferred type of equipment when it is necessary to penetrate dense vegetation or when it is desirable to see the fog in the coverage area. This section of our product line is largely used by governments, mines, golf courses, hotels and condominiums around the world to combat mosquitos that transmit malaria, dengue and west Nile among others.
AGRICULTURE AND STORED PRODUCTS
The small droplets created by Dyna-Fog® machines have many applications to protect the storage of food and other products such as documents, leather, tobacco and others, against harmful insects and organisms. Most biologically active chemicals (insecticides, fungicides, disinfectants and deodorizers) will give their best results if applied in small droplets between 10 and 100 microns in size, according to chemical type. Where wind drift is advantageous or in a closed building, smaller droplets can be utilized to maximize the efficacy of the chemical and reduce application costs. The thermal fogs produce small droplets that will carry into nearly all of the airspace in a building. ULV droplets (cold fog) will also penetrate airspaces without remaining in the air for such a long period of time, and with some machines the droplets can be produced in sufficient numbers to create a wetting effect on surfaces.
SANITATION AND DISINFECTION
As the growth of the world population continues to explode, the need to control the spread of communicable diseases is also growing at an exponential rate. Encap-it has a full line of machines designed for applications ranging from hospitals and assisted care facilities, universities and other largely populated public places, to airplanes and cruise ships, it is critical that areas are clean and safe from disease. Using spraying and fogging technology coupled with the latest innovative formulations is one of the only known effective ways to rapidly treat target areas.
Dyna-Fog machines are ideal for helping in the elimination of odors associated with solid waste treatment facilities, microbial decomposition of animal waste, and noxious volatile compounds. Dyna-Fog machines can be used for the odor control in poultry and livestock facilities, food processing plants, refineries, paper mills, waste transfer stations, waste water treatment facilities, animal shelters, chemical manufacturing, industrial exhaust, solid waste and waste transfer stations, meat packers, rendering plants, oil sludge cleanup, construction sites and equipment, landfills and garbage dumps, industrial odors, aeration ponds, and composting facilities.
FOGGING VS. SPRAYING

However, droplets in this size range are highly susceptible to being drifted long distances by wind. This is why most outdoor (agricultural) spraying is done using droplets of 200 to 400 microns. Where wind drift is advantageous, or in a closed building, smaller droplets can be utilized to maximize the efficacy of the chemical and reduce application costs.
Modern pest management requires surveillance data in order to plan control work. Field surveys are the foundation of an effective program. Data on the mosquitoes with the greatest potential to adversely affect public health and
comfort, including data on mosquito density and distribution, are essential in order to plan and conduct effective control measures. Light traps are an easy, relatively low cost way to obtain an index of the number of mosquitoes in an area. This light trap was designed to be an efficient means for collecting samples of adult mosquitoes. Once collected, the mosquitoes can then be identified and counted to provide a statistical representation of the population density and type of species in any given area. Collecting a sample of mosquitoes using this light trap can provide invaluable information necessary for evaluation and control of the mosquito population.
